Submit Your Poetry, Stories, Artwork

News Articles
08/28/2002

The East Bay’s public bus system is casting about for creative minds with the driving ambition to achieve artistic fame (at least at a local level).

AC Transit is currently conducting a contest, open to anyone 18 and older who rides the transit system, in celebration of the bus service, its passengers and drivers, and the cities and communities it serves.

Artistic submissions are solicited in three forms: a written story (of no more than four typed, double-spaced pages), poetry (no more than two typed pages), of visual art (electronic gif or jpeg, or hard copy no larger than 8 ½ by 14 inches).

Up to three prizes may be awarded for winning entries in each of the three forms. Prizes include:

  • First place: a free 31-Day Transbay Bus Pass
  • Second Place: a free 10-Ride Bus Pass
  • Third Place: a free One-Day Bus Pass

The transit system’s contest runs through the close of business on Tuesday, October 1, 2002. Further information, including contest rules and an entry form, is available online at www.actransit.org (click the Creative Call button).
