Hayward/San Leandro Area Service Adjustments Begin Dec. 22

Press Releases
12/19/2002

A new bus route, Line 81 Shuttle connecting the San Leandro Main Library with the San Leandro BART Station and the Marina Community Center, heads the list of service changes being introduced in the Hayward-San Leandro-San Lorenzo area Sunday, December 22.  Line 81 Shuttle trips will operate every 45 minutes from about 9:00am to 9:00pm seven days a week

Other changes beginning Sunday (or Monday, December 23, for weekday service) will affect:

  • Line 66: weekday schedules are being expanded to provide all-day (6:00am to 6:00pm) service between the BayFair and San Leandro BART stations. During weekday commute hours, Line 66 trips will continue serving the Adams Industrial Park.
  • Line 87: the local route that circles Castro Valley, which gets expanded schedules (operating from about 6:00 a.m. until 9:00pm weekdays, 8:00am to 7:00pm weekends and holidays) with trips at 40-minute (rather than 20-minute) intervals.
  • Line 93: the San Leandro-San Lorenzo-Hayward bus route will be extended to serve the Alameda County Juvenile Court (replacing Line 97 service).
  • Line 97: service schedules are improved to provide trips between BayFair and Union City BART every 20 minutes on weekdays, every 30 minutes weekends and holidays, from about 6:00am to 11:00pm  (Line 97 will no longer serve Fairmont Hospital and the county’s Juvenile Court facility.)
