Volunteers Sought for Retirement Board

The District’s Board of Directors is seeking volunteers to serve on the Retirement Board, which administers the agency’s retirement plan and Applications to fill two Retirement Board vacancies for a two-year period (April 1, 2003 through March 31, 2005). Applications will be accepted until the close of business at 5:00pm Friday, January 31, 2003.

Retirement board members meet regularly to perform specific duties, including hiring staff to administer the retirement fund and plan;determining qualification for individual retirements; employing actuaries, investment consultants and money managers to assist in administering the fund; and advising the District’s Directors on retirement plan issues.

Desirable qualities include experience in accounting and actuarial functions; administering investments, preferably related to retirement systems; or employee benefits administration.While residency within AC Transit’s district boundaries is desirable, it is not required.

Volunteers must attend monthly Retirement Board meetings (usually the second Monday each month) plus special meetings, as necessary. Click the link for the application package , or to read more information.
