BART Plus Discontinued on AC Transit

As of Monday, September 1, 2003, BART Plus tickets will no longer be accepted on AC Transit buses. Through August 31, AC Transit bus drivers will honor valid BART Plus ‘B’ tickets (those dated for the period of August 16 through 31).

The BART-to-Bus discount transfer program will continue. Passengers may obtain a two-part BART-to-Bus transfer at machines within the BART station paid area. The transfer entitles the bearer to a 25-cent discount (20-cent discount for seniors, disabled, and youth) on AC Transit local cash fares.

The decision ending participation in the BART Plus program was made by the AC Transit Board of Directors in June. (Other AC Transit fare changes going into effect on September 1 will be announced on August 7.)
