Service Changes Planned for December

Service changes are scheduled for implementation on Sunday, December 21, 2003.

A number of lines throughout AC Transit’s service area will be discontinued.  Others will be restructured to combine well-used route segments. Service frequency and / or hours of service will be reduced on a number of lines. On a few lines, frequency and hours will be increased.

The changes, approved by the AC Transit Board of Directors following public hearings this past summer, will reduce overall service by about 14 percent. The reductions are necessary to help the district weather the general economic downturn, which has resulted in a steep decline in tax-based revenue.
