AC Transit’s Hydrogen Fuel Cell Zero Emission Demonstration BusĀ begins revenue service on Monday, June 28, and continues in service through September. It operates on Line 7 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and Line 9 on Tuesday and Thursday. See the schedule.
The bus emits only water vapor in the form of steam from its tail pipe. The drive system is electric, so the bus is as quiet as an electric golf cart.
Since this is a demonstration test vehicle, a capacity load is defined as twenty-six (26) seated passengers. The service provided will be in addition to regularly scheduled service. We invite you to ride this advanced technology vehicle.
See our hydrogen fuel cell page for more information and resources about this exciting new technology.
Note: The Fuel Cell Zero Emission Bus is a demonstration vehicle in service for a limited period of time. It does not carry a bike rack.
From time to time, the bus may be pulled from scheduled service for educational and maintenance activities. We apologize for any inconvenience to our passengers.
