EAST BAY PARATRANSIT Consortium PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE Proposed New ADA Paratransit Fare Structure
Notice is hereby given that the Alameda Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit and the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART), acting as the East Bay Paratransit Consortium, are sponsoring a joint public hearing to receive comments on a Proposed New ADA Paratransit Fare Structure. In addition, a second public hearing is also scheduled by the BART Board. The proposal is subject to modification as a result of public input.
Public Hearing Schedule:
Joint Hearing July 19, 2004 at 11:00 am AC Transit General Offices, Board Room 1600 Franklin Street, Oakland			Second Hearing July 22, 2004 at 9:00 am BART Board Room 800 Madison Street, Oakland
Current East Bay Paratransit fares are: $2.25 for trips 0 – 8 miles; $4.50 for trips greater than 8 miles and less than 24 miles; and $6.75 for trips greater than 24 miles. New proposed fares are:
For service in the East Bay		For service to / from San Francisco*

$3.00	0 – 8 miles	$6.00		For destinations up to the Civic Center BART station
$4.00	greater than 8 miles, up to 12 miles	$7.00		For destinations beyond the Civic Center BART station
$5.00	greater than 12 miles, up to 20 miles	*some San Francisco trips will require an additional MUNI charge of $1.65
$6.00	greater than 20 miles

If you wish to submit written comments in advance of the public hearing, they may be submitted by mail, facsimile, or email but would have to be received by 12:00 noon on July 16, 2004 to be included in the agenda packet to the Boards.
