S.F. Supervisors Seek Control of Terminal Project

News Articles
02/03/2006

Supervisor Chris Daly lost out to Supervisor Jake McGoldrick for control of the San Francisco County Transportation Authority (SFCTA) earlier this week. McGoldrick was re-elected to chairman of the SFCTA, a group playing a crucial role in the funding of the new Transbay Terminal.

Daly had publicly admonished McGoldrick in the past for his failure to support the project. The project is within the district of Supervisor Daly, who believes McGoldrick has been trying to derail the new terminal.

The SFCTA is the agency that oversees tax funds that have been earmarked for the terminal. McGoldrick has been openly critical of the project, and questioned the certainty of its funding. Daly, who sits on the Transbay Joint Powers Authority and has been a strong supporter of the project, has accused McGoldrick of trying to sabotage the building of a new Transbay Terminal.
