Ticket Machines Repaired at Parkway

News Articles
05/01/2006

The bugs have been worked out and everything should be running smoothly now at the Richmond Parkway Transit Center (RPTC). Central Parking, the company contracted to manage the parking operations, reported back to AC Transit that all equipment is now repaired and functioning properly.

A week into the paid parking program riders found the machines were not accepting all the payment methods properly. Coins and larger bills were not being accepted and some riders were having difficulty getting their change and receipts.

Riders should now be able to pay for parking quickly and easily. The vendor replaced a number of components and had their technicians thoroughly test the machines. They will now accept dollar coins, quarters, nickles, and one, five and ten dollar bills.

Should you ever experience problems with the parking machines at the RPTC, please call or email AC Transit Customer Services. You can call 511 and say, “AC Transit” to be connected by phone, or send an email to customerservices@actransit.org.
