Bay Bridge Closure Alters June 3 and 4th Service
Press Releases
06/02/2006
Construction on the San Francisco Bay Bridge will force AC Transit to temporarily postpone its late night-early morning transbay service this weekend.
In line with Caltrans’ plan to close the bridge between 12:00 am (midnight) and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday morning June 4, 2006, AC Transit will halt its regular service across the span during the prescribed hours. However, in an effort to accommodate riders who need to make the trek to or from San Francisco, AC Transit lines 800, F, NL and O will ferry passengers to the MacArthur BART station. From there BART will operate trains to many of the BART stations in the East Bay and San Francisco until the bridge reopens.
While the bridge is shutdown, the modified AC Transit service will be as follows:
Line F:
Line F will operate its regular route between the U.C. campus and 40th & Market streets in Oakland. From there, it will serve MacArthur BART. Line F bus stops on Emery St., 40th St. and Shellmound St. will not be served during the closure.
Line O:
All Line O stops in the East Bay, except 5th St. & Market St., will be served, with buses continuing to MacArthur BART instead of San Francisco.
Line NL:
All Line NL stops in the East Bay will be served, except the Bay Bridge Toll Plaza and West Grand Ave. & West Mandela Parkway. Temporary stops will be established on Mandela Parkway north of West Grand Ave. Buses will continue to MacArthur BART instead of San Francisco.
Line 800:
All Line 800 stops in the East Bay will be served. Buses will turn onto 40th St. from Telegraph Ave., circle MacArthur BART, and return to Telegraph Ave.
