Lawrence Hall of Science (LHS) celebrates a free-admission Community Day on Thursday, October 12, with special events including AC Transit’s zero-emission fuel cell bus, a zero-emission fuel cell car, and a zero-emission mini-bus. The public is invited to come see and ride these vehicles and learn more about the promise of hydrogen fuel cell technology.
In addition to events on alternative energies, a bonanza of exhibits and activities will be available for visitors from 10am to 8pm. Topping the list is GROSSOLOGY: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body. This exhibit investigates why we sneeze, vomit, belch, and even stink. Tour a 10-foot nose, slide down an esophagus, and climb a skin wall to learn how the body fights germs, digests food, and eliminates waste products.
