Celebrate New Year’s Eve on the town and get home safely with the regional All Nighter bus service. AC Transit, Muni, SamTrans, County Connection, and Wheels run coordinated service from just after midnight to morning. You can even get back to most BART stations after the trains stop running.
AC Transit operates five All Nighter lines, including Line 800 every half-hour between San Francisco and downtown Oakland, with timed connections to buses running along the Richmond-Fremont BART line and elsewhere.
Two “All Nighter” bus lines will run at half-hour intervals, from approximately 12 midnight to 5 a.m. on January 1, 2007, with roundtrip service from downtown San Francisco to virtually all parts of the East Bay. The buses largely travel along the BART corridors, connecting with other bus routes or other transit agencies. Service every half hour will be on the 800 Line, which runs from San Francisco to Richmond, and the 801 Line, which runs from Oakland to Fremont. Other “All Nighter” service on lines 802, 805, 840 and 851 will maintained their hourly schedules.
“We are hoping that our expanded service will not only relieve potential holiday traffic congestion but also create a transportation option for anyone who may be too exhausted or too spirited to climb behind the steering wheel,” said AC Transit General Manager Rick Fernandez. “So for us, it is as much a matter of public service as it is a potential issue of public safety.”
