A community meeting for the California Terrace and Sikh Gurdwara Sahib communities regarding AC Transit’s Line 99 service will be held:
Thursday, November 1, 2007
7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Veterans Memorial Building
37154 Second Street, Fremont
(a short walk from AC Transit Line 216 on Niles Blvd.)
On June 24, 2007, AC Transit began operating Line 99 bus services into the California Terrace neighborhood in Fremont. New and modified bus services were developed in collaboration with the City of Fremont in an overall effort to expand services into underserved areas, meeting the transit needs of a growing senior population and to connect with BART and Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority. Since the changes, many new passengers are now able to use bus service on Mission Blvd. between Union City BART and Fremont BART.
Line 99 operates every 30 minutes from 5:00 a.m. to midnight. The new bus stop at Terrace Dr. and Gurdwara Ave. provides transit access to the community and avoids unnecessary pedestrian crossing at the uncontrolled intersection at Mission Blvd. and Gurdwara Ave.
The purpose of the community meeting is to present pending schedule changes and receive comments on the bus service. Staff from AC Transit and the City of Fremont will be available to discuss the service, answer questions, and receive feedback.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, comments can be sent to:
