Attend an “Open House” for Line 51

AC Transit is hosting a series of open houses for the public to hear strategies to improve Line 51, the busiest line in the AC Transit system. The line serves many destinations in Alameda, Oakland, and Berkeley, including shopping and entertainment districts, BART stations, UC Berkeley, hospitals, and many more.

For the past two years, AC Transit has been working diligently to evaluate the line, including usage patterns and sources of delays, while compiling a list of recommendations to improve the line’s overall reliability. See staff report.

AC Transit staff is interested in sharing these recommendations with, and eliciting comments from, the public. The three open houses will include a brief staff presentation, the opportunity for one-on-one conversation with staff members, and an open-ended question-and-answer period.

Monday, March 9, from 6:30pm to 8pm at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, 2727 College Avenue, Berkeley

Thursday, March 12, from 6:30pm to 8pm at Haight Elementary School,  2025 Santa Clara Avenue, Alameda

Saturday, March 14, from 10:30am to 12pm at AC Transit General Offices, 1600 Franklin Street, Oakland
