Great Deals at Local, Green Merchants Available Through New Mobile App

News Articles
12/22/2011

When you ride AC Transit, you’re doing your part for the environment. Now you can do even more for the planet, by making purchases from environmentally responsible merchants, many of which are right here in the East Bay and easily accessible by AC Transit!

To make green shopping a breeze, AC Transit has teamed up with Chinook Book to offer passengers access to great deals at local, sustainable businesses through Chinook Book’s new mobile app for iPhone and Android, available at www.chinook.is/act.

Chinook Book, formerly EcoMetro, is a book that offers coupons for hundreds of products and services available at businesses throughout the East Bay – merchants like Farmer Joe’s and Arizmendi that care about the environment as much as the bottom line. Now, with the mobile version of the book, coupons can be accessed and used directly on iPhone or Android phones.

The mobile app is normally available with the purchase of the book for $20, but for a limited time, free mobile app downloads will be available to AC Transit passengers as part of its partnership with Chinook Book. You’ll see the AC Transit logo displayed on select screens within the app (including bus line information for over a hundred merchants that are served by AC Transit), and AC Transit contributed lots of helpful content for the app’s Transportation Resource Guide. Look for the Chinook Book ads on buses and at stops, and be sure to get your free download at www.chinook.is/act, or by scanning the QR code on one of the ads.
