Expanded In-Person Clipper Services Now Offered at AC Transit

News Articles
06/12/2012

AC Transit has become an official Clipper “in-person customer service center,” offering new, additional services to Clipper users. With this expansion, the AC Transit & Clipper Customer Service Center joins two other in-person centers in the region, both in San Francisco.

For the last few years, the AC Transit location has issued adult Clipper cards, taken applications (and photos) for Youth Clipper cards and Regional Transit Connection (RTC) Discount cards, and loaded cash and passes on all types of Clipper cards. Two Add-Value Machines (AVMs) have also been in place for customer use.

Among the newly added services are:

  • Issuing Senior Clipper cards
  • Issuing non-personalized Youth Clipper cards (for youth not using AC Transit)
  • Replacing (same-day) damaged or defective cards
  • Replacing (next-day) lost or stolen cards*
  • Registering cards and changing registration information

The customer service center is located at 1600 Franklin Street, Oakland (one block off Broadway near 17th Street), and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except holidays).

For more details and the comprehensive list of services, click here.

*Customers must first call Clipper at 877-878-8883 to report a lost or stolen card. A replacement card can then be sent by mail or issued in person the following day at the customer service center.
