Clipper Youth Card Eligibility
A Clipper Youth card is personalized with your photo and requires proof of age. Youths, age 5 – 18, must sign up in person, complete an application form and have your photo taken. You’ll need to bring one of the following documents as proof of age:

- Birth certificate or passport
- Medical benefit card with date of birth
- State-issued ID or state-issued driver’s license
- Military dependent card with date of birth
- Alien registration/permanent resident card
- Consular ID card
- Student ID card with date of birth

You will receive your Clipper Youth card by mail within two weeks, and can add an AC Transit 31-Day Youth pass, cash value, or other agencies’ passes to the card at any Clipper retailer, at the AC Transit & Clipper Customer Service Center in Oakland, or on-line at www.clippercard.com.

Remember, if you already have a Clipper Youth card, be sure to keep it! The same card is good until you turn 19.

If you have questions about getting or using a Clipper Youth card, you can e-mail clipper@actransit.org or call 511 (and say, “AC Transit”).

* The AC Transit & Clipper Customer Service Center (CSC), while open on three Saturdays in September, will only be able to sign up youth for Clipper cards. Other Clipper and AC Transit services will not be offered on those Saturdays. However, staff at the CSC will be selling a temporary paper youth pass, for $20, that youth can use to ride AC Transit until their Clipper Youth card is received and loaded with value.
