Bus Stop and Route Changes in Downtown Hayward

News Articles
02/27/2013

Effective 8 p.m. Friday, March 15, Foothill and Mission boulevards will become one-way streets in downtown Hayward. Traffic will flow in a loop configuration in the Five Flags area of Hayward from Jackson Street and Mission Boulevard to A Street and Foothill Boulevard. Foothill Boulevard will become a northbound one-way street from Mission Boulevard at Jackson Street until A Street, while A Street and Mission Boulevard will handle the southbound traffic. For more information about The Loop and the 238 Mission Corridor Improvement Project in general, please visit the Hayward Loop website.

Due to this change, AC Transit’s service and bus stops will be affected in the area. Refer to the map below, or download the printable map, to determine where to catch your bus. New buses are indicated by a star; discontinued stops are black; and changed stops are shown in red. Note that the new stop on Main Street at B Street is tentative and awaiting approval. Also, two new stops are not shown on the map. The Line 48 stop on Foothill Boulevard at A Street moves across A Street. The lines 22, 99, and 801 stop on Mission Boulevard at Pinedale Court will be moved to Fletcher Lane at Watkins Street.

Lines 22 counterclockwise; 48 to Hayward BART; 93 counterclockwise; 99 to Bay Fair BART; and 801 to downtown Oakland will have slight routing changes to accommodate the new street configuration. Click through to preview the updated line maps for each of these affected lines.
