AC Transit and the City of Berkeley invite the public to the Berkeley Transportation Commission meeting on Thursday, November 21, at 7:00 p.m. The commission will discuss potential improvements to Line 51B in Berkeley, the subject of extensive community outreach over the past few months.
The commission meeting is an important step in the City’s review of the Line 51A/B Corridor Delay Reduction and Sustainability Project, a $10.5 million AC Transit effort funded through the Metropolitan Transportation Commission’s Transit Performance Initiative program. The project aims to design and implement improvements along the length of corridor through Alameda, Oakland, and Berkeley.
Commission meeting details:
Thursday November 21, 7:00 p.m.
North Berkeley Senior Center
1901 Hearst Avenue

• Bus stop improvements (e.g., lengthening, improved landing areas)
• Bus stop relocation or elimination
• Intersection and traffic signal improvements
• Transit priority signal timing improvements
• Shared bus/queue jump lanes
• Left turn pockets
• Bus bulbs (i.e., extending sidewalk at bus stops)
