This December, AC Transit is introducing a series of service improvements. AC Transit’s financial situation and ridership figures have improved recently, allowing the District to make modest service increases. Also, a new partnership with BART is helping AC Transit to serve new areas and more riders.
Highlights of the December 7 changes:
- With funding from BART, additional All Nighter service is being provided on weekends (late Friday night/early Saturday morning and late Saturday night/early Sunday morning). Line 800 will be extended to 24th St. Mission BART, trips have been added on lines 800 and 801, and a new line, Line 822, will operate from San Francisco and Oakland to central and eastern Contra Costa County.
- A new Line 46L will serve the Grass Valley area of East Oakland and provide limited-stop service along 81st and 82nd avenues.
- Line 97 in central and southern Alameda County will have increased frequency during peak periods on weekdays.
