(Update: this article originally didn’t note that the additional trips on lines 46 and 339 will operate on weekends, not weekdays.)
Beginning Sunday, June 14, AC Transit is making changes to a number of bus lines, in order to improve on-time performance and relieve crowding on some transbay lines.
Highlights of the improvements:
- One morning trip will be added to transbay lines C, E, FS, G, J, OX and P.
- One evening trip will be added to local lines 57 and 216.
- For summer only, Line 46 will operate every 30 minutes on weekends, including service to the Oakland Zoo.
- Line 339 will operate every 30 minutes on weekends, including service to Chabot Space and Science Center.
Complete list of service changes effective June 14, 2015:
Line | Description of Changes |
---|---|
20 and 21 | Due to the closure of the 29th Avenue freeway overpass for reconstruction, these lines are operating via East 12th Street and 23rd Avenue. Buses will not serve stops along 29th Avenue northeast of 23rd Avenue between April, 2015 and October, 2016. |
31 | In order to clarify the service, the weekend schedule for Line 31 is changed. The end of the line for all weekend trips in Alameda is Monarch Street & West Red Line Avenue. However, passengers may board at any stop and ride through the end of the line to their destination. |
46 | On weekends, in order to better serve summer visitors to the Oakland Zoo, buses will operate every 30 minutes instead of every 60 minutes. Buses will return to operating every 60 minutes in the fall. |
57 | One additional late night trip will operate on weekends, leaving Eastmont Transit Center at 12:18 a.m. Saturday evening/Sunday morning and Sunday evening/Monday morning. (The paper Line 57 timetable will not be reprinted, but information about this trip will be available online.) |
