Thanks to support from Measure BB and a partnership with BART on late night service, AC Transit is continuing its series of service improvements that began in December 2014. This August, in addition to other schedule changes, AC Transit will add more than 27,000 annual hours of service.
Highlights of the improvements:
- In order to better serve Northwestern Polytechnic University (NPU) in Fremont, Line 215 will be extended to serve the campus, and schedules on lines 215, 217, and 239 will be coordinated to provide service to NPU every 15 minutes on weekdays.
- Line 14 will operate every 15 minutes on weekdays during the day, instead of every 30 minutes.
- Line 62 will operate every 15 minutes during weekday commute periods, instead of every 20 minutes.
- Lines 800 and 801 will have more service on weekends, with a bus every 20 minutes until 6:30 a.m. in most areas.
- To ease crowding on Line NX4, three trips will be added in the afternoon.
