The Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit) is informed by Oakland’s Public Works (OPW) Department, that roadway work caused by a sinkhole at the exit of the Posey Tube continues. We are further informed the necessary repairs now require the full closure of both lanes of the Tube.
As a result, AC Transit has detoured the following Bus Lines effective
Monday, March 19, 10:00 am until further notice:
- Line 19 (westbound)
- Line O (westbound)
- Line 20 (westbound)
- Line W (westbound)
- Line 51A (northbound)
- Line 96 (northbound)*
- Line 851 (northbound)
To execute the detours and minimize service disruptions throughout Alameda Island, the following coach stops will be out of service until further notice:
- Webster Street and Atlantic Avenue (Stop #59400)
- Webster Street and Willie Stargell Avenue (Stop #50542)
Questions concerning the extent of the damage, repairs and timeframe of Posey Tube closures are best addressed by the City of Oakland.
AC Transit is closely monitoring all information from Oakland’s Public Works (OPW) Department, and we remain committed to immediately updating our riders with the latest details. Information will be available at actransit.org or on AC Transit’s Twitter feed: @rideACT.
