EasyPass for Residential Communities
Benefits
Apartment, town home, and condominium dwellers, as well as certain neighborhood communities can have a car-free and carefree quality of life with a residential EasyPass program. Your homeowner’s association/group, building manager, leasing agency or real estate developer can purchase EasyPasses for every unit/home within the community.
A residential EasyPass program is a great incentive for prospective tenants or buyers who want to live in a place where they don’t have to worry about sitting in traffic, parking, or even owning a car! The minimum number to get started is one pass per home/unit, with a 100 home/unit minimum.

How to start an EasyPass Program
Call or email us to set-up a meeting
We will set-up a brief meeting with you to provide an overview of our program and help you determine if EasyPass is right for your community.
Determine your participant pool and receive a pricing estimate
We will help you figure out how to create the best participant pool for your community, and then we will estimate your per-unit pricing.
Program proposal
We will develop a program proposal for you that provides all the program details you’ll need to show the decision-makers in your residential community.
Once you decide to have an EasyPass Program
Execute a baseline survey
The EasyPass program is results-driven–we want the program to work for your residential community. One way to evaluate the program is to determine how your residents are currently getting around, and compare it to ridership data at the end of the program. We will help you conduct an online survey of your residents and we will evaluate the results for you.
Identify a Site Coordinator
One person will need to devote a small amount of time to coordinate the EasyPass program. That person will be the liaison between your community and AC Transit. We will provide the liaison the training and promotional materials need to help your EasyPass program flourish.
Get all eligible residents registered
If your residential community is already occupied, we will work with the site coordinator to define the best combination of on-site sign-up events and on-line registration processes. All participants will need a photo ID on their EasyPass. For communities in the process of leasing or selling, the sign-up for EasyPass will be rolled into the moving-in process.
Receive resources & support
We are here to help you promote the program to your participants. You will get valuable services from the AC Transit EasyPass team to get the word out to all your residents about the EasyPass program, including:
- Marketing activities assistance and planning
- Marketing and promotional collateral development
- AC Transit service information
- Promotional items
- Ridership reports
Pricing
The EasyPass for Residential program pricing is tailored to your residential community and considers the number of participants, the existing level of bus service at your location, and pass production, transaction, and administrative costs. Pricing is offered via the EasyPass Pricing Matrix as an annual per-unit price. This price is usually billed annually at the start of the program.
The matrix is comprised of two axes-the Number of Units and the Level of Transit Service (LTS). The numbers of units represents the total number of residential units in the program’s participant pool. AC Transit uses a worksheet to determine the transit service level provided with a ¼-mile radius of each EasyPass location.
