Perfomance Notes
All of the associated performance charts are based upon data derived from the NTD submissions from 1993 to 2009.
Charts that depict both Current and Constant dollars are based upon a yearly definition and caluculation of inflation derived from the Bureau of Labor Statistics dataset for "all urban consumers" within the "SF Bay Area".
Route level perfomance is based on the last yearly evaluation of the District's route network.  There exists a disparity between the APC data and the information provided to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) in the National Transit Database (NTD) report.  Part of the explanation for this disparity is based on the ways that the data is collected, and the uses to which it is put.  The NTD report contains data on Unlinked Passenger Trips (UPT), which is collected and subsequently reported by following a federally-approved methodology.  The data used in the NTD report represents a gross ridership number for the entire system, and does not take into account specific service routes or types.  The information provided in the Ridership Evaluation provides a sound snapshot ridership by route but can not be directly correllated to NTD performance.
