Bus Operator candidates do not require previous experience as a bus operator. Instead, AC Transit will provide all training including what’s necessary to obtain a California Class-B Commercial Driver’s license. Find more information about becoming a Bus Operator here. Interested Bus Operator candidates should have:
- A valid driver’s license for at least seven (7) years;
- A safe driving record; and
- Pass a criminal background check
Journey Level Mechanics earn $31.83 per hour (first 6 months); $33.60 per hour (next 6 months); $35.37 per hour thereafter, with full time hours (40 hours per week) and a complete benefits package.The ideal Journey Level Mechanic candidate should possess:
- Four (4) – six (6) years of experience;
- Pass a written exam; and
- Pass a hands-on mechanical exam
