Transit Times Newsletters
Transit Times began as a monthly newsletter in May 1958 to chronicle the “progress on transit planning for East Bay.” Available to the public upon request, the newsletter introduced, informed, and engaged the general public in the formation of its new publicly owned transit system. Transit Times became a quarterly in the Fall of 1988 and eventually ceased publication in 1989. The digital collection available here is possible due to the generosity of collector David Chen, U.C. Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies Library, and the archives of the Western Railroad Museum in Suisun, CA.
For high-resolution PDFs of any or all issues of the Transit Times newsletter, please email your request to historian@actransit.org. Please indicate the issue(s) requested and a mailing address.
