Journey Level Mechanic

William leads by example and consistently supports his team. His expertise in both zero-emission and diesel buses makes him a trusted resource for apprentices and journey-level technicians. He proactively works with vendors to expand his knowledge and expedite repairs, while also taking on additional responsibilities, including hazmat tasks, CARB certification, and organizing the battery room. William’s strong work ethic, reliability, and positive impact on the late shift are highly valued.

Bus Operator Kini is being recognized as an employee who is always willing to take on extra work to ensure the overnight routes are covered. Mr. Kini is very reliable and works well with his co-workers and the public.

Service Employee

David consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to quality and takes great pride in the appearance of the fleet. His attendance is excellent, and he remains flexible, readily adjusting his schedule to support the division and the District.

Bus Operator / Line Instructor

Russell has been instrumental in ensuring that D4 Operators are trained on all equipment at this location. His friendly demeanor provides a safe and welcoming environment for Operators to train comfortably. He always encourages the Operators to ask questions during training to ensure that they fully understand the material. His attention to detail makes all the difference. I am honored to nominate Russell for Employee of the Month.

Body Mechanic

Leroy exhibits outstanding proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and unwavering commitment in the maintenance and repair of the fleet. His advanced knowledge in body repair, structural restoration, and finishing consistently guarantees that every bus is returned to service in optimal condition.

Odie Wortham brings a positive attitude and an outstanding work ethic to his job. He enjoys interacting with the public, the fresh air and the freedom an AC Transit career affords. When asked about what he loves about AC Transit he responded “I work with great people! I never miss days because I love what I do.” AC Transit is honored to recognize Mr. Odie Wortham as our May 2026 Employee of the Month.
