Transit Employee Appreciation Day 2024

AC Transit bus operators, mechanics, supervisors, maintenance staff, station agents, and customer service representatives keep our communities moving. No matter the circumstances, they’re with us every step of the way. On Transit Employee Appreciation Day, we recognize their hard work and dedication. 

Started in 2009 by transit passengers in Seattle, Transit Driver Appreciation Day was a national event that recognizes the skills and talents bus operators bring to public transit every day. March 18th was selected in commemoration of the first bus line in 1662 called ‘Carrosses à cinq sols.’  

2024 marks the inaugural celebration of Transit Employee Appreciation Day celebrating all frontline transit employees. 

Show your appreciation for the incredible work of our frontline employees! You are welcome to submit specific commendations in one of the following ways: 

• Thank your operator when you exit the bus 
• Send commendations using this form  
• Post on social media and include #TransitEmployeeAppreciationDay and #RideACT
