Service Changes Effective Sunday, August 7

Effective on August 7, 2022, AC Transit will be implementing changes for Local, Transbay and Supplementary Service.

Highlights of changes include:

  • Several lines are restored to their pre-pandemic service levels: 12, 18, 29, 33, 57, 71, 72R, 76, 79 and 88.  
  • In addition, lines 65, 703 and 707 are partially restored.
  • Lines and trips designed to serve schools resume for the fall.
  • Lines 57, 638, 657, 680, 805 and NX3 operate via Camden Street instead of MacArthur Boulevard between Seminary Avenue and 64th Avenue.

The following routing change affects multiple lines:

Board on MacArthur Boulevard at Millsbrae Avenue, or on Camden Street at Seminary Avenue, 64th Avenue or 62nd Avenue. See below for other changes to these lines.

12Weekday service increased. Buses operate every 20 minutes during the day. Service also operates later into the evening, with the last trip in each direction leaving after midnight. Other minor schedule changes.
18Weekday service increased. Buses operate every 15 minutes during the day. Service also operates earlier in the morning, with the first trip in each direction leaving about 5:00 am. Other minor schedule changes.
29Weekday service increased, and weekend service resumed. On weekdays, buses operate every 20 minutes during commute hours. On weekends, buses operate every 30 minutes from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. Other minor schedule changes.
33Weekday service resumed between Highland Way and Estates Drive, and weekday service increased to operate every 15 minutes during commute hours. Other minor schedule changes.
40One additional trip departs downtown Oakland for Eastmont Transit Center at 14 minutes after midnight on weekdays (early Tuesday through Saturday mornings). Other minor schedule changes.
57Service increased to operate every 15 minutes all day, both weekdays and weekends. Trips on Line 657 beginning at Oakland High School and heading toward San Pablo Avenue have been renumbered as trips on Line 57 and extended to Emeryville. Other minor schedule changes.
65Service restored to the Senior Avenue loop. Service operates every 40 minutes between downtown Berkeley and Grizzly Peak Boulevard & Senior Avenue, with service every 80 minutes along the Senior Avenue loop and every 80 minutes to the Lawrence Hall of Science.
71Weekday service increased to operate every 30 minutes all day.
72RWeekday service increased to operate every 12 minutes all day.
76Service operates later in the evening, with the last trip leaving at 8:15 pm or later. Other minor schedule changes.
79Weekday service increased, and weekend service resumed. On weekdays, buses operate every 30 minutes from 6 am. to 10 pm. On weekends, buses operate every 30 minutes from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Other minor service changes.
88Weekday service increased to operate every 15 minutes during commute hours. Other minor schedule changes.
93One new trip operates school days only from Hayward BART toward Bay Fair BART in the mornings, and from Bay Fair BART toward Castro Valley BART in the afternoons. Other minor schedule changes.
95School-day-only trips resume for the fall. Afternoon trips leaving Hayward High School on school days only have a minor routing change, and do not serve the stop on 2nd Street at E Street. Use the stop on D Street at 2nd Street.
217Trips that operate school days only are redesignated as Line 641 instead of trips on Line 217.
376Service begins later. The first trip leaves El Cerrito del Norte BART at 8:23 pm, and the first trip leaves Pinole at 9:18 pm. (Lines 71 and 76 serve areas of Line 376 earlier in the day.)
604In the mornings, Line 604 serves first the Oakland Hebrew Day School and then continues to Head Royce School (rather than the reverse). Line 604 no longer serves stops on Alida Street. Other minor schedule changes.
611Line 611 discontinued. Line 33 provides service to Westlake Middle School, and Line 96 provides service to 14th Avenue. The Line NL stop added in June at Grand Avenue & Harrison Street also provides access to the Westlake Middle School area from MacArthur Blvd.
641New line between Mission Blvd. & Grimmer Blvd. and Hopkins Junior High School replaces trips on Line 217 that formerly operated school days only.
648Trips beginning and ending at Community Day School are discontinued. Other minor service changes.
657Trips on Line 657 beginning at Oakland High School and heading toward San Pablo Avenue have been renumbered as trips on Line 57 and extended to Emeryville.
667In the mornings only, Line 667 enters the El Cerrito del Norte BART bus lane and stops on the east side of the station. It does not stop on San Pablo Avenue south of Cutting Blvd. Other minor schedule changes.
684Line 684 no longer serves stops at El Cerrito del Norte BART or on Hill Street at Liberty Street. In the mornings, use the stop on Cutting Blvd. at Snowden Avenue. In the afternoons, use the stop on Elm Street at Glen Mawr Street. Or, for service between El Cerrito High School, Korematsu Middle School, and El Cerrito del Norte BART, use Line 667. One new trip added between Korematsu Middle School and Richmond BART every afternoon. Other minor schedule changes.
701Additional trip added leaving Pittsburg/Bay Point BART at 4:15 am.
702Additional trip added leaving Pleasant Hill BART at 4:24 am.
703Line 703 partially restored, with one trip leaving Dublin-Pleasanton BART at 3:58 am.
706Additional trip added leaving Bay Fair BART at 4:21 am.
707Line 707 partially restored, with one trip leaving Fremont BART at 3:56 am.
LInstead of Line LA, Line L will serve Pierce St. in Richmond and Albany, including the Albany Park & Ride Lot at Buchanan St. and I-80. An additional trip will leave San Francisco at 5:45 p.m. Other minor schedule changes.
LA Line LA will not exit the freeway between Richmond Parkway and the Salesforce Transit Center. (See Line L for service to Pierce Street and the Albany Park and Ride Lot.) From San Francisco, there will be three trips daily instead of four. Other minor schedule changes.
Other Trips that operate school days only resume for the fall. These are on lines 33, 39, 51A, 57, 72M, 76, 93, 95, 97, and 600 through 699. Most lines have minor schedule changes to better meet school bell times. Minor schedule changes are made on lines 1T, 14,  20, 21, 39, 40, 45, 51A, 60, 62, 73, 78, 86, 90, 98, 210, 212, 232, 805, E, F and P.

“Minor schedule changes” are those that move the times of bus trips earlier or later by a few minutes.

New schedules and line maps are available at actransit.org. All lines have printable timetables available online, and pocket timetables are available on board buses for local bus lines and Transbay bus lines F, NL, O, and 800.
