January 2021 Employees of the Month

January 2021 Employees of the Month

January 04,2021

It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to keep AC Transit buses on the road and running smoothly. Each month, the District honors the service of those drivers and mechanics who contribute directly to this effort by awarding “Employee of the Month” honors from our Supervision, Maintenance and Transportation divisions. Our candidates are nominated by supervisors at our Central Maintenance Facility and at each of AC Transit’s four bus divisions in Emeryville, Richmond, East Oakland and Hayward. Winners from each division and one from the Central Maintenance Facility are selected by the Superintendent of the division. Each winner receives a gift certificate to a local restaurant.

We are pleased to announce the “Employee of the Month” winners for January 2021.

Kristie Williams

Transportation Supervisor

Kristie Williams has always performed at a high level. Colleagues describe her as a knowledgeable and thorough training instructor that produces well-trained controllers. Ms. Williams has also assisted with opening the STC, writing Supervision’s standard operating procedures and putting processes in place to streamline operations.

Stephen Ureste

Mr. Ureste is the lead painter at the CMF paint shop. His tasks range from complete paint jobs on buses to painting non-revenue vehicles. Once vehicles have the collision repairs completed, they must go to the paint shop. Steve will then color match and blend in the new paint and return the vehicle to a like-new condition. Thank you for keeping District vehicles in excellent condition for the public to see.
