It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to keep AC Transit buses on the road and running smoothly. Each month, the District honors the service of those drivers and mechanics who contribute directly to this effort by awarding “Employee of the Month” honors from our Supervision, Maintenance and Transportation divisions. Our candidates are nominated by supervisors at our Central Maintenance Facility and at each of AC Transit’s four bus divisions in Emeryville, East Oakland, Hayward and Richmond. Winners from each of division and one from the Central Maintenance Facility are selected by the Superintendent of the division. Each winner receives a gift certificate to a local restaurant.

We are pleased to announce the “Employee of the Month” winners for July 2019.


Navraj Padda

Transportation Supervisor

Mr. Padda is always ready to tackle any assignment at a moment’s notice and search for solutions to help operations function more smoothly. He is a true professional.


Phong Ngo

Inventory Control Clerk

Mr. Ngo has revamped and taken ownership over the Coach Down Report. This critical report is distributed District-wide and relays vital information regarding our coach fleet readiness. Through a collaborative, organized, and efficient effort, Mr. Ngo has gone to great lengths to facilitate the delivery of the correct material, at the correct time, at the correct location. Mr. Ngo has also developed methods and processes to streamline much of the tasks within the Inventory Control department.


Lawrence Ng

Journey Level Mechanic

Mr. Ng is a very knowledgeable mechanic, team leader, and relief working foreman who leads by example. He is a self-starter who motivates his co-workers to take the initiative in working toward achieving District goals. Mr. Ng is a true asset to Division 2.

Chunsie Moore

Bus Operator

Bus Operator Chunsie Moore has a great personality and always does a good job for the District. Ms. Moore arrives at work with a smile, cheerful attitude, and neat uniform promptly at 5:30 a.m. She never receives any negative reports and continues to welcome constructive coaching. Ms. Moore is an asset to the District.

Justin Cruz
Journey Level Mechanic

Mr. Cruz has been selected as employee of the month because of his effort and commitment. He is extremely hardworking and an employee we can count on to complete any task. Mr. Cruz is a role model and a team player who is always open to helping others. He is a great asset to AC Transit.

Anthony Fa’atuga

Bus Operator

Operator Anthony Fa’atuga has a positive work ethic and great customer service skills. He maintains perfect attendance, positive work relationships with peers, and often receives Line 72 or 76 passenger commendations. Operator Fa’atuga is a great asset to Division 3 and the District.


Japora Smith

Parts Clerk

Ms. Smith is an efficient worker in all aspects of the job. She has established herself as a premier parts clerk who works hard and is very reliable. In addition to assisting maintenance, Ms. Smith also takes care of transportation with the same efficiency. Congratulations on your much deserved Employee of the month!

Christina Almodobar

Bus Operator

Operator Christina Almodobar is a professional with a positive attitude. Her uniform is always sharp and highly pressed with attention to detail. Operator Almodobar is also always willing to go the extra mile to help co-workers and customers. Thank you for a great job and representing the District in such a positive manner, Ms. Almodobar.


Jose Camarillo

Lead Mechanic

Mr. Camarillo is a great asset to Division 6 Maintenance. He is always willing to help his fellow mechanics in any situation and is always available to fill in the lead position whenever needed. Mr. Camarillo is a great team player and a very knowledgeable and talented mechanic.

Lorenzo Jacobs

Bus Operator

Lorenzo Jacobs is frequently celebrated by his passengers for having a great attitude, being on time, and handling stressful situations with ease. He is always willing to assist the Director or sit on the interview panel to recruit new bus operators. The Division 6 Transportation Team appreciates Mr. Lorenzo’s hard work and dedication.
