AC Transit’s discounted fares make getting around even easier for eligible riders

Youth, seniors, and riders with qualifying disabilities or income can receive discount fares and passes to ride AC Transit. Discount fares can be purchased using cash on board buses with valid ID, with Clipper by applying for a discount Clipper card, and at the AC Transit Customer Service Center.

Discount Eligibility

Discounts - Youth

Youth

Riders aged 5-18 are eligible for discount fares. The best way to pay is by applying for a Youth Clipper card

Children under 5 ride free.  

Discounts - Senior/Disabled

Seniors

Riders aged 65 and older are eligible for discount fares. When paying with cash riders should be prepared to show identification. The best way to pay is by applying for a Senior Clipper Card.

Discounts - RTC

Clipper Access

The Clipper Access Card (formerly RTC) is available to riders with qualifying disabilities. You may use the card as proof of eligibility to receive discount fares on fixed-route, rail, and ferry systems throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Discounts - Clipper START

Clipper START

Clipper START offers eligible low-income riders in the Bay Area 50 percent off of AC Transit Adult single ride cash fares. Riders in the Clipper START program will receive their own personalized Clipper card in the mail to get their discounts at all the participating Clipper START transit agencies. Learn if you are eligible and apply at clipperstartcard.com.
