We’re pleased to introduce the Line 78 Pilot, which launched on Monday, August 9, 2021. The route connects riders with the Alameda Seaplane Ferry Terminal, operating along Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway and Santa Clara Avenue. Key destinations include:

  • USS Hornet and Seaplane Lagoon Ferry Terminal
  • Webster Street and College of Alameda
  • Mastick Senior Center and Alameda City Hall
  • Fruitvale BART Station

Schedule

The line has timed connection with the Ferry during commute hours, connecting with the first boat to San Francisco at 6:30 am, and the last boat to Alameda at 10:40 pm, Monday through Friday.

Fares and Tickets

AC Transit offers many ways to pay for your ride so catching the bus is easier than ever. You can choose to pay with cash or go contactless with Clipper® or your mobile device. Find complete information about payments options at our Fares page. When you use your Clipper card for transfers, you’ll ride for free or receive a credit:

  • When you transfer to the bus after your ferry ride, your ride is free.
  • When you take the bus to the ferry, your ferry ride will be discounted by $2.25 on Adult and $1.12 on Youth fares.

Bicycles

The Ferry terminal is on the Bay Trail and connects to the Alameda Trail, providing excellent bike and pedestrian access to AC Transit and the Ferry. You can learn more about bikes on buses.
